So what, exactly, do you do?
My primary service is the mathematical analysis of new and existing casino games, slot machines, or any other gaming-related venture. Stated in simpler terms: Before a new game can see live play in a casino, a thorough analysis of the odds and probabilities inherent to the game must be conducted. The gaming authorities and the casinos will want to be assured that the game is profitable for the house. That's where I come in.
In addition, I am also willing to consult with regards to any issues of game balance, optimal house edge, and so forth. If you have an idea for a casino game, but are uncertain as to what mechanics you may or may not need to implement to make it 'work', that's where I come in.
If you're looking for some computer-based marketing to help with you game, that's where I come in. I've already done several computer demos, which you can see on my Demos page, and if you're looking for someone to build and run your website for you, I can do that as well, and at a reasonable rate.
What qualifies you to perform this analysis?
My education includes a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Calgary, complemented with a heavy math background (including credits in Calculus, Linear Algebra and Formal Logic). My work experience includes seven years as a computer programmer and analyst with the Calgary Police Service, and five years experience in the casino industry as a dealer. In addition, I have achieved recognition in the Canadian gaming industry as both a successful poker player and a published poker and gaming author. I'm quite proud of my involvement in the gaming industry both as an employee and a participant, and I feel it has done nothing but help me understand my clients and their needs. When it comes to gamblers, as the saying goes, "it takes one to know one."
Is there anything else I should know before having an analysis performed?
All potential clients are encouraged to read the following articles before considering having a casino game analyzed, with particular attention to the first two pieces, as they were written by two individuals with substantial experience in the casino game analysis industry:
What is the cost of having a game analyzed?
As hackneyed an answer as it sounds, "it depends". More complicated games will require more analysis, as will games that require a measure of game balance, and that would increase the fee. The only way to find out is to contact Future Sight Gaming with a full disclosure of the game in question and the work required, from which I will derive a quote and an estimated timetable.
What about the cost of other services?
See above. In this case, however, it would also depend on what, precisely, you would be interested in. I can provide services individually, or in a bundle. The best way to find out -- just drop me a line and we'll chat.
Who else can you recommend?
With regards to other analysts in the industry, I am pleased to be able to recommend these individuals, as I have worked directly with them in the past and have found both their expertise and professionalism to be of the highest caliber.
With regards to individuals who can provide other services for the budding casino game developer, I recommend the following individuals:
- Jon Muskin, for any gaming patent needs.
